I should have added before, I'll not be going on my own but with my parents and brother including his family. 5 adults and 4 children altogether.

I've got a similar problem though I am the main PWC - basically my ex has the passports and is being very difficult about returning them. Is there anything I can do to legally to get them back?

The Court's can order that your child’s passport is handed over or it's lodged with a solicitor and the courts permission is required to release it for holidays. The trouble is if you resort to court action with these sorts of problems it's very easy to get locked into an ongoing cycle of retaliation and provocation on almost every single issue which is so detrimental to the emotional well being of the children.

In my experience if you can ride through the chaos of the first couple of years after separation it does get easier, but it's really a question of being flexible and trying different approaches to get around problems. mediation or even negotiating through a solicitor are better ways to resolve difficulties in a way that can work for everyone.

You cannot get children on your passport anymore. They have to have their own from birth.
