I say "Frown" on her because I said to my solicitor i could go part time therefore get her unreasonable demand of £500 a month for 5 years maintenance seem even more stupid than it already is.

The chance of me getting back with her are Absolute zero. She knew i was sterile when we got married.

Yes, sorry, the way you phrased things, I wasn''t sure if you''d been having sex. Thanks for answering that. You may still need to provide proof (DNA test) to the CMS to stop her trying to claim child maintenance against you.

It would help if you could post:

Your respective ages, incomes, length of marriage, the value of all assets (incl your house & pension), the value of any debts (incl credit cards, mortgage)....to give us an idea of both your finances. And what is she wanting from the settlement?

Also, the court WOULD frown on you intentionally reducing your income. Please don''t do that or threaten to do that...however tempting it seems!

I think your asking for too much personal information for me to post on a public forum.

I have proof of 2 fertility tests which i think is enough.

I am 46 and she is 39.

Sorry, I know it seems a lot of info, but we can''t really comment on what is fair if we don''t know whether you have been married for a long time, whether you earn a lot more than her and whether you understand that the home is a marital asset and she has a right to a share of it etc and can afford to rehouse herself from the offer you''re making.

Looking at your ages
- As long as she passes the affordability criteria (is not a low earner etc) then she is young enough to get a 25 year mortgage
- She has enough time to build up some more pension

But if she is a low earner and planning to go on maternity leave in the near future, I''m not sure how she plans to afford childcare once she returns to work and/or pay the mortgage if she intends to go on income support...and that may be why she is looking for a lot of SM. But we can''t really comment if we don''t understand your circumstances
