My daughter has refused to see my ex husband since January 2017. After many years of mental instability he decided that he had gender dysphoria and in January took her out for the day dressed in full make up, high heels and a dress with his new similarly dressed trans friends.
She was very upset and came home saying that she didn't want to see him dressed as a lady again. She has repeatedly refused to see him ever since.
I arranged for her to have support from a family support worker who has worked with her these last few months and helped her write him a letter explaining why she doesn't want to see him.
In addition his ex girlfriend has come forward to say they he told hey on a number of occasions that he experiences physical contact from men, women AND children as sexually arousing and she is prepared to write a statement to this effect. I have reported this to children's services.
He has completely refused to acknowledge our daughter's wishes and has taken me to court for a contact order claiming that I am transphobic, preventing contact and that our daughter is growing up in an abusive environment.
Carcass have been ordered to make a safeguarding report and a court hearing has been set.
Any advice?

How old is your daughter? My advice would be to cooperate fully with all the agencies being very clear that your daughter's well being is your priority.

It sounds like he has been more focused on his feelings than hers. If he is indeed transgender, she will need support to understand and accept this. It can't just be imposed on her without warning. You can do your bit to help her understand - there will be organisations that can offer support to you both.

The allegations by the ex are serious. They could be malicious but need investigating. In your shoes I would be very wary about contact until both these matters have been sorted out.

Thank you - she's is 8 and a very strong character and has stuck to her guns. The crazy thing is he hasn't even bothered to phone her for months, not even on her birthday although he has set himself up as a Trans Parent Rights Activist with a website and twitter feed criticising me and children's services who have been supporting my daughter with family support.

First court hearing is in 3 days and Cafcass are recommending a full report inc child wishes and feelings.

I'm dreading it though.
