Not sure if this is relevant.... But her first experience of telling a child that she was a girlfriend was with your daughter. Perhaps she has now decided that it wasn't the best of ideas. hard to say much more as neither you nor me are in her head, so to speak.

I would just ask her directly if she was having any emotional problems with regard to her child.
