Hi

My experience with the CSA was a good one. I applied for child maintenance online at the end of August, it had been all sorted by the end of October. I also received back dated money and an increase of nearly two hundred pounds to what my former husband had been paying me. We have kept to a private arrangement i.e the money does not go through the CSA before I get it, but I have the CSA as a back up if former husband defaults.

You are very lucky pip, just goes to show if the NRP is willing to pay it's very smooth , i have an ex that just don't want to pay for the children it makes me feel i'm in limbo at times 1 min better off then back to sqaure 1 as he picks and chooses when to pay, i went 19 months without a penny from him so far this yr i have had no payment since August although this yr the payments he made uptil August was staggered what he should of paid p/w as he is classed as non compliant he paid that amount every 6 to 8 weeks so worked out roughly around £6.25 p/w as him being self employed he did get a low assesment which i proved at the CSA tribunal, assesment backdated. His arrears are really clocking up and i can't see him paying them off before the children are in their 30's it will be no good to them then.My sister has so far waited 7 yrs for a payment for her son and that is with a liability order in her hand which obviously is not worth the ink it's written in.
