What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
So after trying to negotiate a fair split -we have not come to an agreeable conclusion.
Not my planned route - but we will have to go down the court route.
Firstly what do I send to court?
I will have to self rep.
Any advice/suggestions please?

You need to send in a form A plus I think it was £255 fee.
On form A you need to fill in the bit about attended MIAM first mediation appointment. If you haven’t been for a MIAM yet, that cost me another £100. Take the printed form A with you and get mediator to sign you have seen them.
Good luck

Thank-you

Yes that is correct, if you fill in the application form you will be the applicant.
