What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I have just received a court date for 3 weeks time to finalise the divorce.
My STBX applied first last year and I agreed. The 20 week mark passed and we were told that my STBX could apply after September 24th to complete it. She didnt so I was emailed and told I could complete it after 24th January ( for a fee which I paid and applied)
I received a letter from the court saying we need to attend there in 3 weeks and im not sure why .
The financials have not been sorted out yet but I wanted the divorce part ended due to DV and my mental health . My STBX has a lawyer ( I cannot afford one so will be self representing) .Her lawyer has stated they will be asking for court costs but im not sure why?
The lawyer has only ever emailed me twice, once to say his client has applied for a divorce and then to say they will be seeking costs. He hasnt mentioned the Financial Order.

Not sure what to do or say next?
