What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My ex husband and I have/had 6 properties together which he indemified me from in our divorce, the tenants were paying the rent to him and he dealt with all the expenses and tenancy agreements, etc.
He has now stopped paying the mortgages on the properties and 4 of then have been repossessed with a shortfall, this currently stands a £45k, the lenders are chasing myself for the shortfall even though I have the indemnity, where to do I stand with the debt and also what can I do to stop the remaining 2 properties from doing the same (these have not been repossessed yet but no doubt will be as he isn't paying those either, but is still receiving rent from the tenants).
I have a solcitor but they are trying to get me to remortgage my house where me and my daughter live (I'm mortgage free due to the divorce conditions) to pay the debts off which I am not responsible for. I work part time and pay my way but my ex is not working at all and I feel he has purposely done that so he can claim he has no income. He does currently pay maintenance for our daughter but I have no clue where this comes from.
Can anyone help??
