What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I understand each case varies but is there an avaerage timeframe for the financial settlement process?

I attended my FA on the 21st March as a LIP. Ex's Solicitor drafted the directions for the FDR two weeks later. We are now over 6 weeks in and I have still not received the agreed directions from the Court. I had read that the time between FA and FDR is usually around 3 months? but the directions from the FA still hasn't been received from the court.

Unfortunately, we are so far apart on expectations, I have no doubt it will also need to go all the way to a final hearing. If so how long can you expect to wait after the FDR until the Final Hearing?

Any advice/experiences are much appreciated.

You should have had the sealed order by now - it's worth checking with your ex's solicitor. It is possible a date for the next hearing is in the order although a separate notice may be sent.
The timings depend on how busy the courts are. FDR is usually 4-6 months after FDA but it can be delayed if an actuary's report is needed.
Final Hearing timings can depend on whether the hearing is more than one day. Again I would estimate 4-6 months.
