What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi new here
divorced and ex taking me to court for a Clean Break order
he stayed in house I left
he paid mortgage off by getting a loan 70k
(when married we agreed a interest only mortgage as his pension would give him a lump sum so that would pay if off)
because he had a big pension I did not put into a pension myself we were happy with just the one
To get his lump sum he put down he was paying me out of the house they agreed he could have it if I signed to say I would not go for his pension later
he gave me 50k when we had agreed 65k
now is now 2 years later and still had nothing from him
he says sign house over to him and he will re mortgage and giv me the rest
I do not trust him so I said we should sell the house
He is saying if we sell house he will take out the 70k he borrowed and the 50k he gave me and I will get basically nothing so I should just sign it over
house is valued 135k
but he still has a pension of 268k
how can he end up with the house no mortgage his pension works full time will becoming into a very big inheritance soon and I have a one bed private flat I rent I am on disability and got 50k
this doesn't seem fair

Don’t sign the house over to him until there is a court order stating how everything is to be split.

Where did the £50k you have had come from, was it borrowed?
