What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hello
I am writing in an attempt to help a friend. They are caught up in a messy divorce with a financially controlling spouse who has decided to stop buy to let mortgage payments leaving the bank account. They are now in arrears. They have submitted a Court Form for a hearing in London but not heard anything. It has been a year, any idea what they can do you in this situation. How long have others had to wait for a court date?

Thank you in advance

Do you mean a Form A application for financial remedy? Has payment been taken?
You would normally get a response within a few weeks. It may be that the application has been lost somewhere.
