What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi. I got divorced in 2002 and in the divorce there was a Prudential PEP that was to be held in favour of our two daughters to be shared equally when they were 18.

they're now 31 and 29 and they never got that money. I have the account number but I've not been in contact with my abusive ex since the youngest got to 18 and neither of them have anything to do with their father

we're not sure what to do. Any advice welcome

ps. I can't really afford a solicitor but I could scrape the money together if needed. But I'm worried that would cost more than the pep was worth.

i think it was in his or our names and I think he probably cashed it in

Were your kids actually named as account holders or was it in his/your names and the plan was to give it to them?

If your an account holder enquire with the provider. It may still be open.

How much money are you talking about?
