What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
Im a survivor of 10 years of emotional, psychological, coercive abuse, control and sexual coercion, and financial abuse from my husband.

I reported him to police. He was arrested and is on bail for 3 months. we both are joint owners of our house. We want to sell the house and move on after bail ends.

I now have healthy issues from all the stress. My son is autistic. I have 2 kids under 6 years. He controlled my finances and didn't let me work.

I wanted to ask can I request from court to give me 80% of assets after sales? He has DESTROYED my health and currently I'm not working.

He has a good job and earn £85,000 yearly.

You can ask for anything you want. What you’ll get is another matter.
Moving away from 50/50 split of the total pot is based on need.
You need to post details of ages, incomes and all assets.
