What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

We have been separated 7 years, 2 kids are now working /uni so no dependents. I live in FMH and he rents a flat. I have paid mortgage etc.
house: 200k (mortgage is 30k). Will split equity 50/50 (I plan to buy him out) and kids still both based at home
salary: me 45k him 18k
note: he chooses to work part time and is self employed so lifestyle choice.
pension my CETV £110k his 70k
note: on separation these were equal but mine has doubled in those years due to promotion and going full time. Each to keep own pension.

Also note we split cars and furniture 7 years ago. We have both been financially independent all that time.

He refuses to pay a solicitor. We are currently on the 20 week cooling off and therefore need to get Consent Order drafted. We have agreed the above is fair and planning to get consent order drafted up using wikivorce.
After such a long separation and the explanations given do you think a judge will deem this broadly fair.
And how long roughly do they take to draft up so I can plan my timeline?

If you both agree it then it sounds fair to me.
Can’t help with how long it takes to draft, sorry. Best ring helpline.
