What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I am looking together with my Ex applying for a Clean Break order and I am struggling to find or access the correct for we need to complete, or how to apply to the courts, any help anyone could off would be well appreciated.

All assetts money and financial issues were all sorted out years ago 2007/2008 when we seperated, which we sorted out between us totally amicably sharing everything equally, between us no solicitors were involved, the only issue left is the pension sharing issue which we again have agreed to split each of our pensions equally, so that also is no problem, no issues between us, but I would like to get a clean break order, so that is totally concluded. because all the settlement of sharing back in 2007/2008 was so long ago neither now know any of the figures involved to put on any forms (possbly the D81) but we are both happy with what settlement their was and neither of us now want to go back over old ground.

We took some time getting around to concluding the divorce but we finally got a Decree Absolute in 2019. I have actually since remarrie but my Ex is still single. and we are now both have recently become OAP's so both of us are not really working or have an income anymore apart from a pension. We have four children but they are well int their 30's now and were adults when we split, and their is issue with them.

We have tried to see solicitors but not really found any that can help, none of them will act for both parties, and they all seem to want to go back over old ground and start a fight between us? And also we now have very little money and dont want to waste it, so we are happy to do this ourselves, we have done the rest of the divorce ourselves.

Has anyone else had any experience of this? and also cannot find the right form to apply for a clean break order.

Thanking you
