What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

We are close to finalising the Consent Order, we have agreed settlement terms and there are no further assets to be divided

As an aside, my ex husband pays child maintenance via voluntary arrangement. However, historically, he had not disclosed his income for a period of 4years. Obviously he has now, as we are at the end of this process and full disclosure was provided by both parties.

Is it reasonable/possible for me to requestion the insertion of a clause along the lines of "the applicant agrees to disclose income annually to the respondent, by way of a month 12 payslip or P60, within 28days of receipt, until child maintenance is no longer payable".

Or is this not enforceable as ultimately I would have to make an application via CMS if I felt the amount was incorrect again in the future?

You could put it in but is he likely to agree to it?
After a year either of you could apply to CMS anyway and that would end the court order for child maintenance.
