What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi - is there a standard test to determine this?

I get kids dressed in the morning, drop them off at school, pick them up from after school club. I also do their homework with them and bath them at weekends.

Wife is leaves for work early in the morning and goes to gym in evening.

So, we've started looking seriously at divorce. Is it a foregone conclusion that she'll be the primary caregiver? Any ideas?

Thanks

It's evidence of the nature of relationships which is important. When a parent stays at home or works part time to care for children they are the one who is primarily giving care. If both parents work fulltime and look after the children care is shared.
