What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I am on jobseekers since end of March. I am doing some short courses to keep me occupied and increase my chances of obtaining a job after 18 years out of work due to raising a family.
Job centres becoming very assertive that I should return to work now that my youngest son is over twelve years.
I do not mind going back to work and I am sincerely looking for work and doing voluntary work as well

1. Will going back to work affect me receiving legal aid?
2. How does it affect what maintenance I may receive from x2b?
filed for divorce since 2008 and nothing sorted as yet we are still fighting over residence for the children. Hopefully 90% that daughter 16 might live with me and sons 17 and 12 still undecided.
17 son says 50-50 and son 12 has been manipulated by dad to say he wants residency with dad which the court was not content because son seemed as if he had been coached into saying negative things about me.
