What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

how long does it take?

Thanks again for the response.
Case is complicated (aren't they all!)by the fact that their father was a high profile Head teacher at the village primary school where I also worked and youngest daughter attended.
STBXH went off with TA from same school and she is now living with him and her daughter(10) in another county.
He made sure that he and his new family had a rental and claimed he could not then pay our joint mortgage.
He left a s***load of outstanding debts behind, including mortgage and I had to get the CSA involved for financial support for our youngest daughter.
I don't think, realistically, that sons will ever contact him again.
They have helped me emotionally and through the nightmare of paperwork and multiple final demands so I do understand their need for closure.
