What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I had to give my ex 30% share of my house - value £37,500 but he is still pursuing contact with legal aid.

Will he have to pay back the legal aid he is getting for the contact case from the £37,500?

Any advice greatly received.

I too want to know about this as my STBX hasnt paid anything on the 15K she has already racked up. Will this be taken into consideration when assets are split- ie. will the judge say "sorry your wife has been difficult and wasted money un-neccessarily but the children need a house, therefore we have to award her more to cover legal fees and a house?"
