What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi there I am a first timer, I am appealing my FH as all the evidence was inadmissible , my barrister said I have 21 days to appearl, my solicitor said I have 14 days, who is right and do holidays count as days, my FH was 18th dec so if it is 14 days it will have ended before everyone is back at work, I am panicking that it won''t be in on time, cheers corn dog.

It''s best to ask the judge who sat for the trial, as far as I know there is no set time limit, it must be within 28 days though, so if the judge says 14 days and your a little over you can apply for leave to appeal out of time, which any solicitor can do with ease.

Due the the holidays most judges are a little more flexible anyway.
