What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,

Final hearing in a month and court financial disclosure update is due by 19th March - last minute panic lots to do!

Well I have copied all bank statements etc so that is good.

But I am out of money and owe my solicitor a lot of money so I will represent myself and appoint a barrister myself if I need to.

The form for this Notice of change of legal representation N434, and I am already stumped at the first hurdle:

1. Previous court documents make reference to "Case No.", this form says "Claim No." - are they the same thing?

2. Previous court documents refer to Name of Applicant and Respondent, this form says Claimant (including ref.) and Defendant. I assume that Applicant = Claimant? What is the "ref."?

Thanks for help.

You have the wrong form, it''s FP8, the one you have is for another type of court case.
