What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I posted this a few months ago, but would really appreciate if anyone could share their successes or failures with applying to court for an increase in Spousal maintenance. I have the nominal 1p in my court order.

Many thanks

Has there been a change in circumstances? The courts don''t vary SM unless there has been a substantial change.

Thanks Fiona - my salary has reduced since court order two years ago. Oldest child at uni so reduction in tax credits. Still going through CMS process. He states no pay increase still 2011, and has now increased pension payments to pay less CM. I can just about afford food let alone paying into a pension. I suspect a diverse of income but difficult to prove. He has had two holidays and got a new car in last six months which is just not possible on the salary he has declared to CMS. Just so tired of struggling to get by and I feel he is not being honest about income so not even getting fair CM payments.
