What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi folks some advice and help please.

Living and married in Scotland.

Split from the wife Nov 2013, agreed date of seperartion 28 Nov 2013.

Took a while after crazy demands

Minute of agreement signed, included all finances, her share of my pension, this was signed last December.

Her lump sum still sits in my lawyers bank. She hasn't however returned an insurance document (agreed in agreement)

My solicitor says he can't do anything until this is returned and they agree to the court action being raised again (raised 2 years ago to get them moving) stopped for negotiations.

Is my lawyer failing me.

Surely with agreement signed, no kids etc. He can push this without consent. 4 years this years of dragging heals and a lot of money spent by myself.

Should I approach another lawyer ?
