What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to wiki. Based on that very limited information; it is hard for anyone to predict what would happen either now or in the future.

Spousal Support is circumstantial; and depends on answers to the questions here:

www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Divorce-Forum/...G-IN-THIS-FORUM.html

Sometimes Spousal support is for a limited time, until she can be re-trained, or get work. It will depend on your ages, kids? and circumstances. It can be adjusted if/when your income changes.

Best post the answers, and you'll get an idea as to whether it is likely she'd get it in the first place.

:)
