Ex staying in house. No equity, cant sell. When interest rates go up i wouldnt be able to afford to stay there. My name will still be on mortgage for the moment but name can be taken off deeds. Would i be entitled to housing benefit (lha) for private rental, whilst my name is on mortgage? - as i know owning another property can jeopardise benefits, so surely ownership of another can be defined by the name on the deeds, not the "mortgage" part?
Advice please anyone.

I know that my ex is in a similar situation to you and she receives DWP.Not sure about obtaining benefits for renting but by neighbours receive it. Think you can only apply and see i guess. Nothing to lose

If there is no equity in marital home then there is a good chance you can get HB and CTB for a rental home
