DLA and IB are needs tested, not means tested, so your gain of £25k wouldnt affect these benefits.

can i also ask this,,, at moment i in middle of divorce ,,only equity in house to split,,,i live on my own me and the wife split the motgage payments until house is sold,, at moment i get full council tax benefit and i do not claim housing benefit as the house is mortgaged,,once house sells and i find private accomadation on the benefits i am on at moment and taking into account savings from sale of house,,, would i qualify for any housing or council tax benefit if i found somewhere to live once this house sells?,,,thanxs,

Its highly unlikely that, with savings of 25k, you would be entitled to receive housing benefit. The higher ceiling for personal savings for HB is around 16k (each council differs, so its worthwhile checking, just to be sure).

The same upper limit of sersonal savings also applies to Council Tax, although you woul be entitled to claim a 25% reduction as you are lving on your own.
