Trying to calculate CTC and WTC 1

Based on an annual income of £10k,having 3 children aged 9,7 and 5,working 16 hours a week and as resident parent what level of child tax credit and Working tax credits could a self employed person expect to receive per month?

The 16 hour Part time work is evening and weekend so no childcare costs,and children have no disabilities or special needs.

One source suggests as much as £1200 per month but is there a way I can corroborate this?

all you need to do is visit the tax credit website. there is a calculator on there..

If you go on the HMRC website there is a calculator which will work it out for you. They are generally quite accurate.

Hmmm.HMRC suggests £6k per year,the second site is suggesting £11k!

Problem is unless you are applying, you can''t phone anyone and ask what the actual amount will be.

Best to use the £6k as its on the ''official'' site.
