Hi, my child has decided to study a levels online age 16-18 instead of staying in college.
The study is with an accredited learning body, and is costing a lot.
Does anybody know if child maintenance is still due to be paid please?

Is it fully online or will they also have to attend with a tutor?

Do they have to be online at specific lesson times for a minimum number of hours per week or is it a case of do what you want when you want?

Hi, it’s fully online but he has assigned tutors for each subject. They phone and email and mark his work.
There are no specific times to be online, so it’s not ‘live’ , but he has to do 40 hours a week.
It is fully accredited, and he has to sit the exams as an external, student.

Doe he/she still require feeding and housing ? If the answer is yes then you need to still contribute towards it. Not difficult is it ?

IT's still full time education; its not as if he is doing a part time course while working. If child benefit is being received, then you should be paying CM as well.

That sounded a bit rude! He lives with me, I’m the one who IS paying for everything, despite being self employed whilst his dad is on three figures and furloughed! I know that morally he should choose to pay, but I need to know legally.

I’m the one he lives with! I’m trying to find out if , legally, his dad should be paying maintenance.
