Hi everyone,

Long time lurker but posting for the first time. I'm divorced and paying parent, we have verbal agreement on the shared care although I'm being pushed to 103 night per year so that I can be in Band B. Anyway, I now have the option to get an EV from the company through salary sacrifice but after reading few posts here I'm a bit sceptical. The exact term is salary exchange contract hire i.e. I only pay a monthly fee to drive the car and will return it after 36 months. On the quote it says P11D value is £40k and BIK is about £15. The benefit is the gross salary exchange and I'm essentially getting 40% discount as I'm high tax payer. So the million pound question is would the whole value of the car of £40k on P11D be considered as an income and thus CMS using it in their calculation ?

Thanks!

Sven

Is benefit in kind being only £15 a typo?

Maintenance will be based on your taxable income less pension contributions.

No, not at all. Apparently BIK on EVs was 0% last year and 1% this year hence why I'm posting my question here.
