can anyone tell me i have the right to have my child dna tested before making any payments for maintenance

If you were married to the child's mother at any time between the conception and the birth of the child and/or are named as a parent on the child's birth certificate the onus is on you to pay child support until you can provide evidence you are not the parent ie DNA results. When it is proved you are not the parent the CSA will refund any payments that have been made.

But are you sure this is what you want to do? If you have been bringing up the child then she or he will see you as a father and to repudiate this on the basis of DNA testing or anything else would be a serious step.
