Equal care petition

It calls for fairer calculation of child maintenance for cases where equal shared care is in place. The current method is defines the Child Benefit recipient as the PWC. As CB rules state that priority is given to the mother, this manner of defining PWC is sexually discriminating. Consider a scenario where the PWC earns more than the NRP - this would lead to the lowest earner contributing the largest proportion to the childrens' financial requirements.

The petition calls for a level of maintenance to be calculated taking into account both parents incomes.
