Hello Mark100

As you have a family-based arrangement in place, there are no set rules to follow. Your arrangement can include anything that you both agree to.

If you were to have a statutory arrangement, the child maintenance Service would work out an amount for you to pay and you would not be expected to pay anything else on top of that.

The Child Support Agency (CSA) no longer deal with new applications and the Child Maintenance Service have a slightly different way of working out payments. You can use the calculator on the Child Maintenance Options website, www.cmoptions.org, which will give you an indication of what the Child Maintenance Service would ask you to pay.

You can see detailed information about how the Child Maintenance Service work out maintenance payments here, www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/upl...hild-maintenance.pdf.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have a web application, ‘Sorting out separation’. It aims to make it much easier for separating and separated parents (and childless couples) to find the support they need, when and where they need it, and encourages them to collaborate on a range of issues.
