Hi guys,

I just wanted to check that all my facts are correct:

I currently earn £35k a year, I have two children with my ex and also have a new partner who I live with who has 2 children.

I put all this info in the child maintenance calculator and came up with a figure to pay my ex.

Unfortunately my ex is a money grabbing so and so, decided she didn't believe my salary, even though I've sent her payslips so went to CMS.

They sent me a letter saying that I should be paying a lot more, on investigation it was because I have a company car. Can't believe they include this amount because I see none of it and the figure they have come up with is totally crippling me financially...

Our company has now decided to scrap the company car scheme and we all have to buy our own cars and get a car allowance.

Thr car allowance is £450 pm, and they also pay the 45p/25p a mile rate. My parents have kindly decided to buy me a car, which means there will be no monthly payments for this and also with the mileage I do I will earn, after I've brought petrol a further £400 pm give or take just off this petrol rate.

My question is if I chuck all the £450 into a pension either my work one or set up a new private one, will I then only pay child maintenance on the £35k.. Meaning that I'm £400 better off in total...

Or will my petrol expenses be used in working out the final sum and also will CMS look at the change of earnings because of this 25% tolerance thingy..

Any help would be appreciated..
