Hi, I'm going through a divorce with 2 boys 12 and 14 years. I would like 50% joint custody. My wife wants me to have them 2 nights a week, which I don't think is fair. This is because she states she is the primary carer (true) and she works part time whereas I work full time.

I feel I'm a good dad (my wife accepts I'm a good dad), can get flexible working to allow 50% custody and have the financial means to support the children.

What is the starting point for child custody and am I on a hiding to nothing asking for 50% in these circumstances?
