So the I have finally received a certificate of entitlement to a decree as a respondent and there in no mention of an order of costs.

Is this because it is an assumed cost due to the ''UB''?

the certificate of entitlement would normally mention costs and a costs order would normally be sent with the Decree Nisi.

In your position it sounds as though there is no costs order but you should confirm the position. Did the Petition contain a claim for costs? Did your acknowledgement reject a claim for costs?

All of the boxes were ticked on the prayer and I replied that, paraphrasing, I would be happy to share costs up to £700.

All of the costs incurred so far she has paid out of marital money anyway so maybe it all evens out. Thanks Charles.

You may end up in a situation where joint funds were used to pay legal fees and you end up having to pay again due to a costs order.

It is worth clarifying but if you said you would pay £700, don''t be surprised when you are asked to pay this amount.
