Other half has arranged first court hearing to get me to speed up negotiation and settle before court

There is a form E document submission date, preliminary statements submission date and hearing date

What is the point of no return, by which if we don't agree ourselves, that the court decides?

Some cases settle by agreement on the court steps on the way into Final Hearing ?.

You can settle at any point in the process. It is best to wait until you are both confident there is full financial disclosure. This may not be until after First Appointment when all questions have been answered and valuations done.
