I have just received a letter from my husband solicitor staying joint assets to be taken into account are the house, the life polices and a loan that is in his sole name. She is asking for a 50/50 split of all the above. So far he is only contributing the minimum child maintenace that he legaly has to and nothing more.

Can the loan be taken into account and can I forced to pay half of it off?

I would also note that I have considerable credit card debt myself most of which was a contribution to the family/home/marriage as was the loan.

Hi, in reply to your question all loans credit card debts etc if they were taken out during the time you were married and living together are classed as joint debts, if you both work your pensions are taken into account as well as cars and anything worth over £500 if sold today.
hope this helps
