Tony,

In principle a creditor should include all your indebtedness in the same action. But it sounds like you need some debts advice, my friend.

As a start, go to your local CAB - as soon as you can - they should have a book called DEALING WITH YOUR DEBTS which is free, or it used to be when I was a bureau manager.

Taking legal action benefits nobody and you need to review ALL your debts and make some offer of payment.

There are many agencies which offer free advice but I suspect at the moment they''re swamped. Get that book if you can. It is very useful,

thanks for the advice, been to CAB, got the book, then took advice from Payplan, who set up a debt repayment plan, but now 6 months later the threats are increasing, have seen some other debt advisors advertising who want min £1000 for advice but no more of a guaranteed fix.
i never missed a payment until i moved to payplan, who then stopped 3 payments so they could action a plan. ''cos if you are up to date with payments, you haven''t got a debt problem, in my case i kept the payments going by gradually reducing all savings to zero, at that point i went to seek help. now life is difficult with a wife who wants nothing to do with it all.

Hi Tony

I lurk here every so often - one of the best resources for managing debt is this community here:

boards.fool.co.uk/dealing-with-debt-5007...=12511113&days=7

As an aside NEVER pay someone for debt advice,as this is money you can be putting towards your debts.

You''ll get some great, free, advice from the above site. The Fool will not try and sell you anything.

Good luck! NB, your ex cannot walk away from matrimonial debts if they were jointly incurred.

But she can if she is only an additional credit card holder, even if it was here who spent the most money on the said card (s)
