Lord knows I have contributed to a dozen threads on sleeplessness on here, and listed all the many things I have tried to no avail (hypnosis, drugs, herbal remedies, hot, cold, lavender etc etc).

Here at last, something that has helped me a little, so I pass it on.

A while back I read something about special blankets for children with autism. Essentially a duvet construction filled with weighty pellets. I didn''t go that far but did start putting a heavy-ish cover over my lovely, cloud-like down duvet. I find it comforting to have the weight - a bit like a hug, or swaddling a baby. I am still waking several times in the night, but there is a marked improvement.

Good luck to all those suffering from sleepless nights.

There are moments that I get terrible insomnia. I would go days without even a blink. When one of those moments come (but I do hope it won''t), I''d try this trick. Thanks so much for sharing!

Yes I''m suffering this. If I wake up in the night and my thoughts stray on to legal proceedings... game over... I try to have happy things to actively think about if I do wake up.

Lack of sleep is definitely getting the better of me at the moment. Thought I was over the worse but back and forth with emails, forms, threats. Not sure how much more I can take.
I do wrap my duvet tightly around me but then wake up in a muck sweat, panicking and fighting to get out of it. Only time I sleep well is when Im dreaming of our life together. Its horrible when I do wake up but I will have had the best sleep for a long time. Not sure it will ever end.
I have found the breathing exercise the best even if it does just allow you to relax for a little while. Best of luck to you all and keep posting your great ideas. :)
