Hi All, new to the site so wanted to say hello.

A bit about me:

30 and married for 744 days! Seperated for 14 months now.

House is Pre-Marital asset, proof wife paid no bills towards anything during marriage.

She ended marriage, immediately asks for 50%

She asks me to 'make her homeless' to get council property (i have proof of her doing this)

We have no contact as I was in an emotionally abusive relationship and I do not want direct contact.

I want a divorce after 2 years seperation. Presume she does too.

Solicitor is convinced that due to such short marriage and no children involved (that are mine) this should be pretty straight forward and mostly in my favour.

Im still petrified though that she will take everything from me!

Looking for people to talk to and reassurance really.

Thanks

Usual rule of thumb is that after a short childless marriage you take out what you brought in but it sounds like you have already paid for expert advice.

Presmably she has been living somewhere for the last 14 months so is suitably housed.

Yes, she asked me for a letter to supply to the council to say I 'kicked her out'. She did this via text so I have proof of this rather than me being some evil guy.

My solicitor did say that I will have to give her something financially 'not much at all' but she has this notion that shes entitled to 50% of my house, this is surely madness right?!
