Hi. I am new in wikivorce ... and very new at divorcing.
I am a Colombian woman married to an English citizen. Things didn't work out and I am back to my country after just 6 months of marriage. I haven't got a job in my country and my husband stills supporting me with 1000 pounds at month until July when our marriage will be disolved.
In colombia the Health Service doesn´t cover people without a job. I am asking my ex to include me in his company health insurance for the time that will take me to get a job. If I have some kind of emergency, is he responsible to pay for my accident? Am I asking for something that I do not deserve?

Thank you

Unfortunately, we can't advise on the law in Colombia.

Your husband's suggestion to keep you in his own scheme appears reasonable - provided the terms of the scheme permit it.

I don't think that English law can force him to take out health insurance for you but perhaps it could achieve the same result by awarding you maintenance sufficient to take out insurance in Combia - again, if this is possible.

Hi Mike

I`m not that sure there would be a settlement after a six month marriage bar perhaps some cash to help short term, could be wrong though and lets face it not for the first time :)
