Very frustrating situation, i have offered a reasonable settlement on the equity on our house, however as i have been in control of finances over the past years allegation (totally unfounded) have been made that monies have gone missing. As a result a claim in excess of £30k is being made against me or force the sale of the house and claims for recoveries of missing monies. I have a toddler son, however, i have a house which i rent out which i solely own and aquired prior to the relationship ..the equity is £12,000...what to do ??????

It''s difficult for anyone to give you a proper answer without a little more detail. We would need:

Your respective ages;

The number of children you have and their ages;

How many nights the children spend with each parent;

The length of your marriage and any period of pre marriage cohabitation;

Your respective incomes;

Your respective outgoings;

Your assets - both soley held and joint;

Your liabilities.
