My husband left in October and now wants to sell our family home so he can get a place with his new girlfriend he said he can take me to court and make me sell is this correct . I have nowhere else to go and after paying off the outstanding mortgage and debt there will not be enough funds for a deposit so renting will be my only option I cant afford to buy him out .

Hi,
Welcome to wiki but sorry you find yourself here. The question you have asked is not straightforward, in theory yes he could apply to the court to get the house sold, but this all comes as part of the financial settlement, there is no guarantee that he would be successful.
