Maybenot,
THe UB is something between you, your husband, the judge and the court staff. Nobody else will see the UB reasons. Very wise decision. More in the pot to haggle over! Although if you petition him (if he hasn't already started) you have more control over the process, and the speed with which things progress. Make sure that your solicitor applies for ancillary relief for you.
All the very best with it.

When you say you have more control, essentially what doe that mean?

You drive the petition, you set all the dates - he is responding to you. You are at a disadvantage, so need to drive the Ancillary Relief. You apply for the Decree Absolute - AFTER finances resolved.
