Hi Everyone - I've planned to sit down with my husband one morning next week [when our child is at school] to let him know that I want to separate and divorce. I will ask that he moves out, to begin with, whilst I assume all childcare and whilst we sort out if possible a friendly settlement. I'm worried he might say no to moving out or ask me to. He does have a history of low level physical and mental abuse of our child which social services and the school know about and are monitoring. Have you got any advice for me on these first few days and weeks?

This is a difficult conversation for you to have. It is important though to be aware that he has every right to stay in the property. He can only be removed with an occupation order and the bar for getting on of those is high

Bear in mind you have been thinking about this for a while but it may be a bolt from the blue for him. Give him time to process.
