Hi

I’ve been living in housing association property with a joint tenancy (a one year converted to lifetime tenancy) since July 2018.

My ex-partner (we were not married) left with the breakdown of our relationship in August 2019. Since then he has agreed to sign a legal document to have his name removed from the tenancy on several occasions but then not doing so.

He was supposed to meet our housing officer last week and finally sign the document - but he cancelled. She does not want to spend her time helping with this other than to get it signed. Nor will the housing association do anything more. I don’t want to have to keep in touch with him as he is being controlling by doing this over and over again, so I am now looking at taking the matter to court.

I understand that I need to file a D50B to request his removal from the joint tenancy. What I don’t want to do if possible is involve a solicitor as I’m not able to afford this. Can anyone advise me of how to obtain this form as it seems to me by looking at it on the govt. website that it should come to me from the county court and I should fill it in and add a supporting statement. Do I just call my nearest court ?

Thanks
