Hi , found myself in this very unfamiliar but very related place .In short: Husband asked for divorce,( with kids 13/15/18) then said he didn’t want divorce . Asked me to quit the joint ltd,( this is why he wants end the marriage , to seek total control) cut off my payment since January . but paying the new shop rent. 10 weeks later I received a form from the accountant to transfer my 50% share for £1. Ok, the company is not in good shape, but should I just hand it to him for nothing, what if he asked for divorce again, leave me nothing left but half of FMH ( 100k for me after the fee if am lucky) would I be eligible for another mortgage ( 52 years old , with newly set up business account less then 1 year old) ? What should I do?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated, I never see this coming 🥹.

many thanks

Everything remains a matrimonial asset and part of the discussion re division of finances on divorce if that's the way things are heading. You may want to hold on to your share of the company until everything is settled and you have decided if the marriage should continue.

Although 50% may be the start point, it may well not be how things end up, especially if there are children to house. Their needs will be a priority for the court. All assets in sole and joint names have to be declared, as does income. All of this would be considered as part of any financial negotiations.
