Hello. I've just joined this forum today.
My husband has moved out for the umpteenth time in our 45 year message. His statements are always the same that he is 'done' with our marriage. This time however, he told me he will be living at our cabin. So, when he is coming back to our house he is taking things with him. He burned a tshirt I had given him in the burn barrel today. I found it smoldering and was able to read the writing on it. I consider this his 'sting' towards me. There is always one or more. I am hoping that eventually he doesn't pull off of his wedding band (I don't care to divorce at my age or have to go through it all).
I've learned to not attempt any explanation, discussion with when he is like this because it starts another round of his rhetoric about how I disrespect him etc.
I've done well by not contacting him because I've read that a person should never run after a runaway dog. So when he leaves I don't respond anymore. I've no doubt he is in his own version of pain. I just can't keep trying to change my attitude when he acts passive-aggressive towards me. It's truly stupid in a world where we only get one life yet here we are again.
