Hi everyone,I'm reaching out here because I honestly don't know where else to turn, and I'm feeling incredibly lost and scared. I came to the UK on a spouse visa about two years ago, leaving behind my family and everything familiar to build a life here with my husband. We were so happy, or at least I thought we were.Recently, things have taken a really difficult turn. My husband and I are now facing a divorce. It's been a shock, and honestly, I'm still trying to process everything. But on top of the emotional pain, I'm terrified about what this means for my immigration status. My visa is obviously tied to my marriage. I've been reading online, and it seems like my right to stay in the UK could be in jeopardy now that we're divorcing, and I’m still yet to reach out to the immigration lawyers that helped me in the first place, because it will come at a cost. I've tried to speak to my husband about it, but things are strained, to say the least. He's focused on his own feelings, and I understand that, but I feel like my entire future here is hanging in the balance. I'm worried about so many things, so if anyone has any knowledge, knows someone who's gone through the same experience or just has some basic understanding that can help me get my ducks in a row, I would be eternally grateful. Here are some of my current concerns:Will I be forced to leave the UK? This is the biggest fear. I've started to build a life here, made friends, and even found a job I enjoy. The thought of having to uproot everything again is devastating. What are my rights as someone on a spouse visa going through a divorce? Are there any exceptions or pathways for me to stay? Do I need to leave immediately once the divorce is finalised? Or is there a period where I can try to sort things out? Can I apply for a different type of visa? What are my options if my spouse visa is no longer valid?I don't have a lot of money saved up here. How would I even afford to move again if I had to? I feel so alone in this. I don't have family here to lean on, and the thought of navigating this complex legal situation alone is incredibly daunting. Has anyone else gone through something similar? Does anyone have any advice or know where I can find reliable information and support? Even just hearing that someone understands what I'm going through would mean the world right now. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any guidance or shared experiences would be so appreciated.
